Take the pledge! I believe in supporting small farms. Also, I believe the food tastes better and I want wholesome food for my family.
Eat Local for Thanksgiving!

We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. With your help, the 2009 Eat Local for Thanksgiving campaign was a huge success.

Together we:

  • collected 3,535 pledges, a 40% increase over last year;
  • helped 33,000 consumers eat 'low-carbon' meals, an estimated CO2 emissions savings of 68,000 lbs.;
  • and promoted eating locally as a way to support local farms, strengthen the regional economy, and protect the environment.

Quotes, like the one above from this year's pledge campaign, and hard numbers help us tell compelling stories to local government, funders, and partner organizations about the stalwart support in our communities for a healthy, local food system.

Help us build greater momentum by sharing your personal stories. Complete a short survey and enter to win a Sur La Table cooking class.

Total Pledges 2009:   3,535
Estimated Pounds of CO2 Emissions Prevented:   7,777
